The Aftermath of Our First Visit to GD

So to begin, for those of you who don't, know GD is my company, Gunderson Dettmer.  OK now that that's out of the way, on to Dolce's first trip to my office.

In the few weeks prior to my getting Dolce about 2 or 3 other people in my office had recently gotten puppies/dogs.  So there had been a few visits to the office here and there by furry friends.  And because of some drama in the process of getting her (her getting sick and not being able to come when originally scheduled) I had already made a pretty big deal about getting her and people were aware.

So once she was here and settled people in the office seemed to be chomping at the bit to meet her.  And how could they not?  Look how cute she is! So upon request Kevin brought her to the office and we had lunch with some co-workers on our building's patio while Dolce ran around outside and made new friends! Not only did she do great with all sorts of new people and a new environment but she was great with us.  She would go, meet new people and say hello, you k ow check them out.  Then come running right back over and check back in with us.  Once we were done, because it was a warm day we took her inside to the lobby to cool off and meet a few other people who hadn't come outside to lunch.  I was a little nervous, God forbid she pee in my lobby or something! But she was great.  She ran around and greeted people but all in all she was quiet and well behaved I couldn't have ask for more at 11 weeks!  A partner even walked by and commented on how how cute she was and asked who's dog she was. But anyhow, I was so glad it went well because this was her first real experience outside our house in an unfamiliar place and meeting a whole slew of strangers.  But, she surprised me and she did great and  she wasn't fearful at all.  I couldn't have asked for anything better. And then about 1 minute after I had left Kevin and Dolce at the car just at the bottom of the hill (literally a 30 second drive) Kevin sent me this picture.  Dolce in her proclaimed spot in the car, passed out amongst toys, leashes and water, spent from her big adventure on the hill. Just a tired but happy puppy, with two very happy owners!
