For the good Lord knows I can buy more clothes, but never another friend like that...

Wow! Our first full day at home together. Hard to believe its actually happening!

It was a long night, for me not her, she went right into the crate and after a few minutes of whimpering just drifted off to sleep.  And slept the whole night through.  Which normally would have been fabulous, except I did not sleep all night.  I was nervous she might pee or wake up and I wouldn't hear her (even though her crate is directly next to my bed) and she'd be all alone. Clearly from my narrative here I know now that I was a bit "overly protective".  Yea that's a nice way of putting it, but I'm just chalking it up to being a first time parent!

Regardless, she was up bright eyed and bushy tailed with the sun the next morning and I was right behind her! We went right out without incident in the morning and I remember thinking, wow I cant believe how easy this is, no accidents! HAHAHA! Famous last words! It was after our first play session outside and our first morning feeding that I barely had time to put her dish in the sink only to turn around and find her squatting on my living room floor.  But to her credit she is (and anyone who knows me can attest I say this all the time) a genius! And it was within a millisecond of my yelling no that she promptly stood up before anything serious could "transpire" and followed me down the stairs dutifully and did her business.  My baby, a genius! She then decided to spend the rest of the day in a grueling cycle of play, sleep, check out the cat, poop, play sleep, check out the cat, poop.  And in between we had a peppering of visitors. It was quite a big day, especially for those of us running on fumes!

She has known nothing but love from the beginning.  We had a busy day full of visitors and new friends.  My roommates had fallen in love with her instantly! Grandma was skeptical at first but has grown to love her since. And Aunty Naomi was making me hold her still for a photo shoot within 5 seconds of being there. With all the hoopla I figured my baby has to look good.  And I did something that to this day I am not proud of because I am not "one of those people", but will own up to it like a big girl!  I caved and I bought her a t-shirt.  In my defense it was on sale for $2 at PETCO! How could you say no to a deal like that!?!  Well I didn't and as a result she looks like a fly diva in all her first pictures with her new family! And that's a memory that I wouldn't trade for the world no matter how much I get mocked!

But for the record it is the only item of clothing she has worn, to date!
