I know you are, but what am I?

I literally don't think that words could describe this picture any better then my blog title.  But if they could they might be "Moooom he's teasing me again!"  This picture so accurately chronicles the timeless cat vs. dog, brother vs. sister, Dolce vs. Smudges relationship! She is enthralled with him, actually maybe obsessed is a better word.

Truthfully, from the moment Smudges' feet hit the ground and she is within striking distance she dances around him barking and growling in her play bow just inviting him even daring him to play with her.  And in turn, he sits there and looks at her with apathy and sometimes even what I think may be disgust, putting up with being climbed on and chewed, until finally he can take no more and (with fair warnings which usually go ignored by her) he strikes! Don't worry she might get scratched but I swear she never even flinches, she just sits back for a second and jumps right back at him.  And keep in my this is all going on usually while I am trying to make dinner. So in between bouts of  refereeing and pulling the two apart I chop some veggies, with Kevin in the background like Don King inciting the "fight", screaming "Finish him!" (you really have to see it to understand, I hate to admit its actually kinda funny)

It has been more recently that the tables have turned a bit and Smudges has realized if he climb on to the tables, couches etc.. Dolce cannot reach him.  And so his retaliation has begun.  He will jump up there and she will try and try to get at him jumping and stretching and reaching, all the while whimpering.  And again Smudges will just look down at her with apathy and definitely this time disgust, all the while knowing he is safe and sound untouchable in his ivory tower.  And so we arrive at the scene set in the preceding picture.  After countless minutes and attempts at reaching her brother/plaything Dolce will turn to Kevin or I whining and whimpering for consolation or even a boost onto the sofa almost seeming to say, "Moooom he's teasing me again!" as only a younger sibling could, while Smudges looks on in the background reciting, "I know you are, but what am I?"
